We reduced annual energy consumption
from 1,600,000 kWh
to 879,000 kWh.
At Advance Packaging's 420,000 square foot facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we replaced 575 6-lamp T5 fluorescent High Bay fixtures with
495 20,000 Lumen LED High Bay Fixtures and 80 30,000 Lumen LED
High Bay Fixtures. We installed occupancy sensors in 74 of the LED's,
and reduced the facility's energy consumption from 1,600,000 kWh/year
to 879,000 kWh/year. We secured a utility rebate for Advance Packaging
that was worth 25% of the total project cost. Including this rebate
(and excluding maintenance savings, the Project ROI was 2.3 years.
In 2012, we completed Calvin College's largest energy efficiency project for their CERF program. The Calvin Energy Recovery Fund (CERF) is a revolving fund used to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions on campus. This project involved retrofitting 527 light fixtures, removing 35 obsolete lights and installing occupancy sensors in classrooms, bathrooms, and offices. Calvin was thrilled to complete the project in one week's time, over spring break. This project allowed for $13,000 in annual energy savings at Calvin.
Martinrea International is a Tier 1 auto supplier that we retrofitted with LED technology. In the projected lifetime of
its new LED fixtures, Martinrea will save over $500,000.
The Commons of Evergreen is a Community Center for Active Living focused on adults 50 + in Holland, MI. In order to take a pro-active, strategic approach to both maintaining their facility and managing their energy costs, Evergreen staff signed up for our annual energy management service, Foresight. Using Foresight's Quarterly Utility Rebate Program Analysis, the Commons of Evergreen received its quarterly report from our engineers that informed them that they would be receiving $20,000 worth of incentives for replacing their boilers. The rate had only been $4,000 when they'd checked just a few months before! This incentive equaled 40% of the total project cost.
